About mespace geek, traveler, storyteller
About my libraryI have barely started cataloguing things here. Books that are shelved in actual bookcases are all listed, but I also have 40 some odd boxes of books in storage, so it will take a while. Then there's the unread stack that takes up a couple of shelves in the linen closet and the to-be-reread stack that takes up another shelf. Somehow I still have room for tablecloths. Cookbooks and the unread folklore are on the shelf in the hall closet where normal folks put hats and scarves and umbrellas and the like.
I'm also working on cataloguing the books I've gotten rid of over the past several years. Those are identified by the "out" tag. The "out pending" tag means it's in a box to go to the used bookstore or, if rejected by the stores I frequent, to get donated to The Book Thing in Baltimore.
I should also explain the halloween tag. I give out books for trick or treat, an idea I picked up from my brother and his ex-wife. I look for cheap children's books and save them in a box and let the kids pick one when they come to my door. The ones that have been chosen are also tagged as "out."
Despite all this, I still buy books. I can't help it - I was forced to take speed reading in 8th grade.
