About meI am a retired school psychologist, born and raised in New Jersey, but living now with my husband in a little house near the beach in South Carolina. Reading is my lifelong hobby, but I also love to needlepoint, and I take classes all over the country to improve my skills. I adore electronic gadgets, and spend all my money on them! I have a Kindle Fire AND an iPad, which is ridiculous as they do the same things differently. I love sports and follow NY teams. I have a Fantasy Football team (just one this year). I play MahJongg several times a week, and since many of my favorite activities involve sitting for prolonged periods of time, I try to get out and walk or bike every day. I am interested and active (as a supporter only) in politics, but I don't press my views on people. Be warned, though, that when I comment on a book, I might reveal my biases.

About my libraryI plan to start from today, recording and commenting on the books I am currently reading. I love literary fiction, historical fiction, current events and history, biography and memoirs, and police procedural mysteries. I often read and enjoy novels written for young adults, and some of my favorite works involve "special" children and adults who see the world from a different perspective. I expect my comments will be somewhat uneven depending on how important the book was to me and what my life is like at the time. As a retired person, I have more time than many, but it somehow fills up when I'm not looking. Just maintaining myself takes a lot longer than it used to!! I hope I have the time to do the books justice, and I look forward to the information I will get from all of you.
