It's one of the best things, isn't it - I feel so privileged to read something and see the creative progress. I'm a good reader and proofreader, possibly *because* I'm not creative in the slightest myself!!

Where do they post the info on who is to be a featured author, as I don't think I'm aware of that at the moment?
Not wanting to look like I'm indulging in one upmanship here, but I know Star Gazing is good cos I read it through for Linda before it was submitted... I'm still absolutely thrilled to have my name in the acknowledgements!
I'm so pleased she will be featured on here and I'll get the other LTers who know her to go on that forum so she sees a few familiar faces.
Hooray! She so deserves to be better known. I'll be interested to see what you think of A Lifetime Burning - I did enjoy it, but prefer Emotional Geology. I have a theory that we prefer the one we read first...

I LOVE EG; it was one of my top reads for 2006 and has really stayed with me. The author, Linda, is very nice too, and really appreciates hearing from her readers.

I'm also sorry I never made it back to the forum, and must stress that it was nothing to do with anybody there. Everyone was really friendly and it seemed like a great place...trouble is I am a member of a few forums, and I found it hard to keep up with everyone, so I stopped going to a few.
I would definitely be interested in reviewing books though - are there any more details I need to know?
Thanks for thinking of me,
Ruth

Glad you enjoyed 'Out of My Depth' - I found it too be one of her best as it was quite edgy and heartstopping at times while being humourous. I remember reading it very quickly as I was so engrossed in it. The first one of hers I read was 'Plan B' - also a good read but I've enjoyed all her books. I did find though that with reading a lot together in a short space of time that I started to find them a bit samey - so leave gaps in between and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Happy reading

It's a coincidence you emailing me because I'm in the middle of reorganising my house at the moment because of decorating and so seven of the bookcases are being moved about and TDBU is now back on my by the bed pile of books I want to re-read. Now you've reminded me I think I might bump it up the pile a bit.
Maggie O'Farrell is on my list of authors who haven't let me down with a book but for some reason I haven't really been sure about Esme Lennox. Let me know what you think about it and see if you can change my mind about giving it a try.
Of the three books I have read, they seem to have a similar theme in that woman leave their homes for various reasons not always apparent to family and friends. Alice leaving London for Scotland with no warning, then immediately turning around and going back. Lily moving into a virtual strangers flat, Jake and Stella running away from their lives. I've just finished reading A Little Stranger by Kate Pullinger and she has a similar theme to this so perhaps you might enjoy it too.
