About meI'm the author of a passel of technical books who is also writing YA fantasy in my infrequent spare time. This is my fifth career; previous careers include actor, lawyer, BMW (boat maintenance worker), and senior program manager for desktop and middleware applications at various large companies.
At birth I asked for rich parents with a normal last name. The Practical Joke Department decided to have a little fun so I ended up with neither. Being saddled with a joke-prone last name, and not having the funds to buy off the local neighborhood bullies, I learned to read as a form of escapism and to be relaxed and low-stress in my dealings with others.
I'm now a moderately well-read, well-educated adult that is a voracious reader, laughs a lot, has had all kinds of interesting life experiences, is equally comfortable at a state dinner or a state fair, and plays RPG and adventure video games. I'm morally liberal, a fiscal moderate, and suffer from bouts of elitism on occasion.
I'm married to a beautiful, intelligent woman, have a small house that we've gutted and renovated together, have one Maine Coon cat that didn't read the book on how to be a Maine Coon cat, want to acquire a Bernese Mountain dog in the future, and would move to New Zealand in a heartbeat if the opportunity arises.
Lastly, I'm determined to live forever or die in the attempt.
About my libraryPrimarily fantasy with a healthy dose of sf thrown in. I also have a collection of writing-related materials that I have not posted yet but will do so soon.
