About meI come from a long line of voracious readers, and have passed along my love of books to my son. I read almost everything from satire, to non-fiction, to cereal boxes. Am always looking for suggestions or recommendations!

About my libraryI have been tracking my reads since the end of 2002 and there is a wonderful mix of books, and some non-fiction as well as fiction. I have no particular favorite genre, and am open to reading just about anything!

Noticed you liked The Glass Castle, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

"Wisdom of the Elders"
(Oraibi, Arizona Hopi Nation)

There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift, that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold onto the shore.
They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore,
push off into the middle of the river,
keep our eyes open,
and our heads above the water.

And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate.
At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally.
Least of all, ourselves.
For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves!
Banish the word 'struggle' from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
WE ARE THE ONES WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.
Hi Miranda! It's so good to hear from you - we miss you over at Fiction Lovers!
Hi Miranda! I recognize you from the IV Fiction Lover's board. Looking forward to browsing your library. ;)
HI....sorry I haven't responded right away. We are in the middle of moving back to BC. We are getting the hell out of the Calgary area as the prices are ridiculous. :-) It was great to hear from a fellow Canadian. I do like to try and read Canadian authors as well.
If you aren't doing anything this weekend or next you should head down to Calgary for the big Calgary Herald book sale. It is for charity. They have over 700,000 used books for sale this year. I usually show up with a suitcase on wheels and fill it up. :-) Its loads of fun. Here is a link to my blog post with all the details http://www.shoptoit.ca/blog/?p=415
Hi Miranda! Sorry it took me so long to respond - I don't check here that often, probably because I'm a slow reader (though i LOVE to read)! Anyway, I will check on your books - let me know if you read any fantastic ones over the summer!

Hi Miranda!-
It's so amazing to find people from all over who have similar tastes in books! I've had Master Butcher's Singing Club laying around for a couple of years. I am so glad I finally read it. It was a great story.
Hi back to you, Miranda! Thanks for stopping by. I also enjoy looking at my TBR list (ha!)...I only wish I could dig into it faster than I am able to. It definitely grows faster than I can read! I enjoyed looking at your books and your ratings as well, and have added a few new ones to my wish list. :')
