About meI am a geologist-turned-librarian in upstate New York. I love being outside hiking, biking and camping. I have two young daughters.
About my libraryI read a lot of history-of-science non-fiction books, with some European history thrown in occasionally. I like biography (especially of women). I occasionally like to take a break and read some chick-lit, although I tend to give those books away.

Thanks for the feedback.
I completely agreed that that there is a need to teach students about scholary research. I wish geology departments would push harder on getting undergrad students into the libraries and the professional journals. I also wish they would do something to encourage (force?) all grad students to really learn how to do research and learn what is available at the libraries. How many hours did I lose trying to figure this out on the fly? You just can't do research until you have a method that is ironned out, efficient, and organized.
