I've scrounged up a better cover for Anthony Watts' "The Imperial Russian Navy."

Hi Michael,

just read your comment on my Carius review on amazon.co.uk. Just thought I'd point out that it's not a question of 'believing what I want to believe' though.. I simply hadn't picked up on the one point you highlight. As I noted in my Fey review I'm perfectly aware that there are 'flaws' and 'omissions' in these Tiger commanders' recollections..on the whole and in this instance I feel that these 'errors' don't detract from the overall 'feel' of these memoirs nor Stackpole's excellent presentation!
Howdy,

Quite a handful of books you have there. You make me jealous.
FYI
I have uploaded a cover for The Hardest Victory: RAF Bomber Command in the Second World War by Denis Richards. This is from the 1994 W. W. Norton hardcover edition.
Thanks for the followup; as my interest has come at a round about way, I think I'll see what turns up through my local inter-library which is able to pull from some of the larger academic libraries as well (e.g. University of Chicago). I got a voice mail saying that one book on the 11th AD couldn't be located, but didn't say which, but seems likely to be this one.

Best regards,

Del Grapes
I have just finished Mark Lynton's Accidental Journey and have begun 11th Armoured history search. I see you have Taurus Pursuant: am I correct in my description of it? A monograph published immediately post-war while the 11th was part of the occupation force? How many pages and a brief description of text and if photos/maps are included?

Mark Lynton died 1998; his family underwites the Mark Lynton History Prize (part of the Lukas Prize Project - book awards for non-fiction - 3 awarded annually at $10,000 each) administered by Columbia U's School of Journalism and Harvard U's Nieman Foundation (for journalism). Interestingly there is also a prize for "best work-in-progress" - $30,000 to allow the author time & money to complete the project.

I am doubtful there is a copy in the local inter-library region. I do have a couple of military bookstores and a museum to also search.

Thanks. Sincerely,

Del Grapes
Ah, mystery solved!
An old Profile publication.
I will search a copy out.
Thanks, Ian.
Thanks for the really nicely scanned Warship Profile covers!

By the way, the author of the USS Mississippi Profile is Karl Lautenschlager. It looks like part of the title overflowed into the author field.
HI,
I notice that you have recently added a book about USS Mississippi (BB 23) / Kilkis.
Could you provide author and publisher, please. I would like to search out a copy for my own library.
Ian
I assume you are Michael Kenny from Feldgrau? If so, I am Kunikov. I'm sure you're aware of who I am and both my review's of Harker's books.
As I add and clean up my library I see that you and me have much in common. Must acknowledge your apparent love of the Tiger Tank. As a self proclaimed German World War II “tread head” I probably share your interest in the Tiger. Maybe not as many books as you but still know an awesome tank when I see one. Any ways, just wanted to say I appreciate and admire your book collection and have been through it on an occasion or two. Have also made some notes on a few books I need to pick up after reviewing your collection. Derek
Thanks for the Museum Ordnance Special covers.
After finding your library (very nice indeed), I noticed we had several books in common that didn't show as such. I did some author and title cleanup work and now there are quite a few more matches. There would be many more but oddly most of your Ospreys have no author. I'd change the 'add book' source you've been using. :)
Hi mkenny,
I'm not sure who you emailed about your account, but on the off-chance it was me, I don't see any emails from you in my inbox... Could you drop me an email? abby@librarything.com

I need to know which payment was yours so I can match it up with your account (so I need to know the email address you used to pay at PayPal.
