About meI love to read and I love to read, that's about it. lol.

About my libraryAll the books listed are currently in my library and do not include the ones I have up for swap (about 50). There are also some marked ebooks. Also when I review, they are usually just small little things about how I felt about the book, I don't go into insane detail...who wants someone to give away the ending in a review...I don't.

Hi Monica,

I'm not into fantasy/vampire. Had I been aware of the signing, I'd probably not have attended anyway.* I'm into contemporary world literature. That's my thing. :)

If you're interested in meeting up with others who love to read, perhaps you'd be intersted in joining BC in DC, my local BookCrossing group. I've never been able to get people from LibraryThing to meet up very well (I've been trying for four years at the National Book Festival. This year we were only three, almost four.

Check out www.bookCrossing.com and see if that's of interest to you. If so, let me know, and I'll give you more information on our meetings and tell you what we do. My profile name there is also SqueakyChu.

Best,

Madeline

*I like that Barnes & Noble, though.
Hi Monica,

What book signing were you talking about? No, I was home. :)

A Friend Who Cares

(Henri Nouwen)

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives
mean the most to us,
we often find that it is those who,
instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures,
have chosen rather to share our pain
and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.
The friend who can be silent with us
in a moment of despair or confusion,
who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement,
who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing
and face with us the reality of our powerlessness,
that is a friend who cares.
I just read your review of The Canterbury Tales, and I wanted to tell you that you're not alone! I, too, have a crush on Chaucer because of the way Paul Bettany played him in A Knight's Tale. "The protector of Italian virginity!" (hehe).

Thank you for participating in my new thread.
Hello! I added your list to the blog. Welcome!
Hi,

I'm your SecretSanta recipient and want to say Thank You for your choices! I haven't received them since I had them mailed to a friend in the US, but I've checked out the Amazon pages and they sound right up my alley!
