I've just finished and reviewed Jon McGregor's If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable things and thought I'd take a look at other reviews of it. I was interested to see you say that you read slowly, savouring it all. While I agree that the text is beautiful I raced through it from one event to the next and hardly took time to draw breath, I was so deeply drawn into events.

Also, I smiled when I read that you bought your own copy because you know you'll want to read it again. I'm pretty sure I won't. I feel it reached a satisfying conclusion and couldn't possibly be as good a second time around. That said, I do hope Mr McGregor writes more and perhaps I will slow down to savour his language next time :)
