Obviously, you have a wide range of interests, including philosophy, and I thought I would pick your brain given that it has been a long times since my undergrad days and I flirted with being a philosophy major. My nephew, who'll be a college junior in the fall, has started reading philosophy--on his own. Currently, he is reading The Republic, and he wants some guidance about other works to read before he commits to being a philosophy major--any suggestions you have would be welcome. No problem if you don't have the time to come up with a couple of ideas--just thought I would ask someone who seems to have a passion for philosophy. Thanks.

I see you have added the Cat and the Hat. I told two groups of second graders today during library tours that Dr. Seuss changed children's literature forever with the Cat in the Hat. You have some of my other all time favorites too including The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. If you have to have addiction, at least LibraryThing doesn't cause cancer or make you gain weight!

I enjoyed looking at your selection. I think you have a very interesting mix of history, philosophy, and literature. I have a few books on my profile that may interest you. In particular Introduction to Phenomenology (Phil), Halsted of Hopkins: the Man and his Men (Medical History, and Short Stories of Flannery O'Connor (southern gothic). Anyway, thanks for the posting the good selection.
