About meI'm old enough to know better, but choose to ignore convention. Bibliophile since birth. Read darn near everything, except...sci fi. Write poetry and short stories. When not writing or reading, I make greeting cards & decorate boxes.

About my libraryI just bought three new bookcases, lovely oak ones. With them I've created a small 'library space' around my fireplace. With an antique wingback chair, a footstool, my cat and a glass of claret-I'm a happy woman.

I grew up on those little orange books called the Childhood of Famous Americans series (which I always thought of as the Boyhood of Famous Americans, so I guess I didn't meet Florence Nightingale). I didn't discover the Signature series or the Landmark series until I was a teacher of eighth-graders--many, many years ago. I am now a collector of Americana, including all three of these series. The juvenile series I most admire now--and would like to collect more of--is the Land of the Free series, which deals with the diverse people who settled the US.
I hope you enjoy cataloging your books and arranging them on your new shelves as much as I have. Cheers!
