About meI live and breathe books and have for as long as I can remember. I am currently an elementary school librarian and I finished an MLIS degree last year. I finally decided to quit fighting it and go ahead and become a librarian. I love to shop garage/estate sales, thrift stores, used book stores, and especially library book sales, although I have been known to spend too much at Barnes and Noble and other such book stores. I've also recently began to buy online from abebooks and other such sites, finding those copies that I really want for my library but can't otherwise find. I am also developing an appreciation of all the great Young Adult literature that is currently available, having missed out on this body of work during the last 20 or so years spent reading adult fiction.
About my libraryMy library is constantly changing. I recently and (now) regretably had to get rid of about a quarter of my books due to space constraints. I have shelves in every available nook and I still have books piled everywhere. As far as content, my main interests are royalty, aristocracy, prominent American families, European history; and at the other end, history of the American south and southwest, especially including the states of Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Hawaii, Native American history and culture, women's history, genealogy, architecture, American folklore and natural living; pioneer life; classic American short stories; anything by or about Mark Twain (my distant relative). I have lots of weird, interesting, and unique works in my library.

I am new to Library Thing and found the site while searching for a particular book to complete a particular book collection.
I am collecting the books in The Agatha Christie Mystery Collection (the faux leather books published by Bantam in the 1980s and 1990s. I think the final book in the set was published in 2000.
In my search, I ran across a librarything listing of the one book I need to complete my set -- "Destination Unknown." The site said you own a copy, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to sell it at a premium price.
You can contact me at ckent1972@aol.com for more details if you're interested.
Thanks for your time,
Andy

Even in my 40s I still have a passion for excellent children's and YA literature. What better friend to have than an elementary school librarian! Library science has always been my second career wish, though I doubt it will happen. I also want a library in my house to equal the one in the Beast's castle, in Disney's Beauty and the Beast! Then maybe I could unpack the myriad bins that have made three moves with me.
Nice to meet you,
Shirl
