About meI figured it was time for an updated intro on me, since it has been a little while. I am 42 soon to be 43, divorced almost 4 years ago.

I employed full time as a 911 dispatcher and have been there going on 24 years. I enjoy reading a lot of different things as you can see by my library. I also enjoy many other things in real life that distract me from my reading. Such as gardening, swimming, movies, camping, boating, and even mowing my grass. :)

About my libraryI am still working on adding books to my library and am trying to review as many as I possibly can. Some books in my library I read a long time ago and probably won't get a review, but they are listed as they are books I have really enjoyed and have kept, there are also several on my Wish list as well as I have many that are to be read. Books that I don't enjoy as much I give away or resell. If that tells you a little about the books that I have not reviewd.

Hello mskeens! How has your new year been? Ive been super busy! I got a new Canon for Christmas and I have been obsessed with taking pictures! Of course that doesnt leave me much time for reading..... So here is a link to my new less time consuming goal for this year!

You're so very welcome! Glad you enjoyed them. I always enjoy Santa-thing, and I had a wonderful time shopping for you. Merry Christmas!
I'm stopping by to say I'm thinking of you during the holiday season. I know it can be rough at times.

I send gentle hugs and lots of gratitude for your friendship.

Linda
Hi Sweetie

Thanks for reaching out to me. It has been a very rough time.

Please tell me how you are doing.

Much Love
Linda
I read your review of Sara Paretsky "Breakdown." Don't give up on V.I. go back and read some of the earlier books. I think series writers have a real problem as the series becomes longer. Some authors (Margaret Maron comes to mind) have a nice way of laying out the background of Judge Deborah Knott, her husband and extended family. Others have a boiler plate they insert in the first chapter that sets out the details and then there are authors who treat each series book as a stand alone and assumes you just know who is who.Readers like and/or dislike each method.

Wow! I just wanted to make a short comment and say that Paretsky is worth of another try.
Hi There! Thanks for stopping by! I hope things are well for you. I know it has been quite a journey. Is your step daughter still with you?

I'm dealing with health issues, the loss of a beloved pet, and the death of a lovely lady who was my friend for 30 years..Other than that life is fine (smiling).

The good news is that we found a lovely woman who breeds Shetland Sheep dogs (Sheties) and she has seven puppies. We have visited them three times and it looks like that in a few weeks we can pick up our puppy who has a sweet, affectionate disposition. It will bring cheer to an otherwise difficult few months.

HUgs, and thanks again for your outreach.
How are you? I thought of you today and want to reach out.
Thinking of you. How are you?
How are you? I'm thinking of you and continue to hold you in my prayers.

Checking in on you to see how you are doing this week.
Thinking of you and wondering how you are.
A quick note to say you are very much in my thoughts.

Linda
Monica

I'm simply stopping by to see how you are today. I'm thinking of you and sending a note in the mail.

Hugs
Linda
A belated happy birthday, Monica! A day to celebrate that you are here to love and be loved by family and friends. My divorce was 35 years ago, in my mid 20s, and I have to say it was the most painful thing in my life to date, but also the one that resulted in the most personal growth and development. My advice is don't have this be something that happens to you--take charge and make it a stimulus to positive change YOU want to make in your life!
Monica

Ten years ago I went through a divorce. I'm still hurting.

Please don't be hard on yourself...take it easy and literally take one step a day.

More Hugs
Good Morning Monica

I saw your post on Stasia's thread and noted it was your birthday yesterday. I hope that despite all the sadness in your life, you were able to enjoy your day and that it was special.

I'm sending hugs and prayers your way.

Linda
Thought I'd let you know my third book is done. A last chapter and a rough draft to redo is all I have left. You'll like it and I believe it relates the story of Celic even better than my other two.

I've not started to submit the draft since its not been copyrighted yet. I prefer to have it legal before giving it to strangers.

I'll try to keep you posted of its progress. Since e-book readers are getting more plentiful, I might go in that direction again, though I'm not sure I'll use the same publisher. Wild Child seems more interested in selling erotic books then normal novels. Vadas will be up for re-publication next January. Hopefully I'll find a publisher I feel will help me market both.
Hi Monica
Thanks for posting on my 75 challenge thread!

Can you please send your link to me so that I can follow your thread?

Many thanks.

Linda
I have been swamped and only now getting to my LT comments!! Thank you for the friend invitation. It seems to have expired (I have been remiss, my apologies!) however, if you would like to be friends I would be happy to!
Noticed you liked Lovely Bones, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here, as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it also contains a young female narrator struggling with a series of tragic circumstances. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

Thanks for the "Friends" invitatation! I lurk on your thread often. You've read some very interesting books.
It is a small world. Presque Isle is one of our favorite places to visit. :)

Carrie
I'd love to be your friend! We enjoy so many of the same books.

Is Conneaut Lake in the north west part of the state? I'm from near Altoona in Blair County in the south central part of the state.

Carrie
I am so glad you enjoyed it. Do you mind if I copy and paste the review to my authors den website with your name? Thanks. I hope you get a chance to read Vadas. You'll enjoy it even more.
more than anything else, I hope you like it when you do read it. Not necessarily for a good review but because you're reading it. Take your time.
Hello Monica, Did you receive the book? If you have a problem with it or need to ask me anything, please do. I know its not edited as it should be. I was caught off guard with the speed of publication and the publisher didn't implement the corrections I suggested.

However, Celic will let you see my style of writing and also give you a background into Vadas which has been edited by a professional.
just thought I'd let you know the book is on the way. Hope you enjoy it. I've learned a great deal since publishing it with Publish America, however, it will give you an idea of my writing style and introduce you to Celic.
Great, I have one copy I can send of Celic and, of course, Vadas, being an ebook will be sent through the mail. Celic is an easy read at 194 pages. Vadas is more in-depth with several plots. I'll let you know when I mail it.
have you bought a copy or trying to win it? Also, I'd love to have a review of Vadas. If you haven't bought Celic yet but promise to read both and review, I'll send you a copy.
Monica, I've noticed that you have Celic listed as one of your books. I'm the author. Are you going to review it? I'm very much interested in your opinion.
Just after I posted the 'search for vampire' comment I went to another thread where it turns out that's her focus. Bizarre twist :) http://www.librarything.com/profile/Phienix

Take care,

Susan
Hey mskeens, it seems we do have alot of books in common. I would love to be friends I'll send a invite!
I love you monica
