GroupsI Love Gov Docs, Librarians who LibraryThing

About meRebecca Blakeley, M.L.I.S., Assistant Professor, Government Documents Maven, and Head of the Government Documents Department at the McNeese State University Library.

About my libraryGovernment Documents reign supreme in this library, of course! I love to highlight the new and interesting Gov Docs acquired in my depository library. I also include some of the GODORT Notable Documents.

I try to include the SuDoc Call #s in the book description if we own the print document here in our depository. If we do not own the print version, a url link to the online version is listed.

To find a government documents library near you, visit the federal depository library directory at fdlp.gov.

And please visit my depository's blog, Gov Docs on the Bayou. You might learn a thing or two about a thing or two. ;-)

Hi friend,
How are things out West? We should visit each other's libraries some day!

Lauren in Houma.
Hi Rebecca,

I did get your message - sorry I haven't contacted you back! After looking at the assignment more closely, I noticed that I needed to profile a collection I could look at in person, so I ended up using yours to compare and contrast against the collection in a smaller academic law library. Your outreach over the internet and through Web 2.0 is especially impressive, and that's what I thought my professor would be most interested in, and I was able to weave that into the paper.

Thanks again for being willing to let me interview you!

-Jocelyn
Thanks for your comment, the invite, and thanks for being willing to let me interview you! The paper isn't actually due for a number of weeks, so I'm going to get my questions together and give you a call sometime next week, once you're back from your conference.

Thank you again!

-Jocelyn
Hello Rebecca,

I'm a library student and assistant law librarian, and I'm currently taking a Gov Docs class - may I interview you for a paper? I'll email you with the details, and would like to do a phone interview since I'm in California. If you don't have the time, that's fine - I'm just interested in getting an interview from a librarian a little further away than my classmates are, and I'm really interested in learning about how you use LibraryThing with your collection.

Thanks in advance for considering it!

-Jocelyn
Hi Rebecca, I'm glad you like my little library :-)
