About meI'm 41 years old, and currently live in the Ashland area of Kentucky. I'm originally from California. I have one daughter, who isn't around much since she turned 18. I'm disabled by illness. Besides reading mysteries (mostly murder, mostly British historical, traditional and cozies) I like to crochet. I also enjoy card games on the computer, like Cribbage and Canasta.

About my libraryI currently have over 800 paperbacks on 4 bookshelves in my bedroom. I plan on bringing in two more bookshelves. One is already there, but it's pretty empty. After they are filled, I don't know what I'll do...guess I'll have to stop buying books...GASP! No, I don't think so. I'm already doubles stacking the books, but I could put another row in front of each row I suppose, that would just about double my capacity.

I buy mostly used paperbacks. The only hardcover books I have are a couple of anthologies that never made it to paperback (as far as I know anyway) They are cheaper, easy to find, easier to carry and take up less space. I buy most of books on-line, from sellers who have no or little shipping charges. I can recommend a few... A Cozy Bookseller, Mystery House Books, Grave Matters (only during their 'Free Shipping' sales)a few sellers on ABEbooks and for the hard to find or new PB releases I use Amazon. I've heard good things about paperbackswap and bookmooch, but I don't want to give any of my books away unless they are duplicates.

I will be adding to my library slowly and I don't plan to pay attention to which covers my books have. I'm not gonna lug them all downstairs to make sure they match.

I too love British mysteries. The double-depth idea is a good one. I do it on my shelves. In fact, some are triple if they're rather small paperbacks. I put the best-looking books on the front row. ;-) and the ugly, but loved ones behind.
