About meI'm a former librarian now making chairs in rural West Sussex.

About my libraryBefore I moved about twenty boxes of books (a lot of them fiction) went to Oxfam. I am now trying to sort out the rump. Until I do the library will look unbalanced. As a quondam cataloguer I delight in the creation of my own taxonomy but I reckon I will have to run through the collection a couple or three times before it starts to crystalize.

Thanks for the kind words about FiU
thank you very very much !!!!!

I was looking for ' Svarta Ballader ' by Dan Andersson but cant find it anywhere, neither in Swedish or in English.
I know him from a cd ' Svarta Ballader ' from Sofia Karlsson and I am translating the songs from Swedish to Dutch, I very much like to do that, but if I only could find the book I would be very pleased, I keep searching,
by the way, I am from Belgium and I am planning of learning Swedish in september,
Thank you for adding us to your interesting libraries list. It started with books inherited from my father - his family were always "poor as dirt" readers from East London. He signed up for a law degree as a London University external examinee, just before the war, it was interrupted so he never finished it. So there are some older law books. My part of the library follows my interests, some of which I would like to write about, although there is never enough time. I started out aborting in Architecture and went onto Town Planning, but have also been a boatbuilder and house renovator and carpenter, so there are collections on all of these. My (second) wife worked as a library administrator and so has also collected, detection, craft, and gardening (she is a superb gardener). her cross that she has to bear is almost all the Dick Francis series (have you seen my comment on our site?) You might find some fairly bizarre sex if you look carefully!

We moved recently looking for a house big enough for a approx 2000 library. We got it and the library is almost finished and about half the books are on. The house is appropriately large and rambles, so we are two older ducks rattling about. It's great for parties though.
