About meI grew up in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., attended U. of Miami, and graduated with a B.S. from S.U.N.Y. Maritime College. I worked as a deck officer on freighters and tankers (my first job was aboard the SS Export Ambassador and took me around the world). I quit shipping when I married and had two children (both now grown). As they went through school, I became more and more involved with working in the school libraries and offices, volunteering and then actually getting paid for my work. When my youngest was in high school I accepted a full time job at the Napa High School library and have been there since 2005. I love working with teens!

About my libraryWorking in a high school library is a great excuse to read the many fabulous YA books available. I would never have read graphic novels if it weren't for their popularity with teens. I also read classics that I missed when I was in high school. Once in a while I will read adult titles that catch my eye from reviews or the clearance table.
