About meNiel Bornstein works for Novell, specializing in data center automation and systems management. A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, he spent 15 years working on corporate and commercial software development, in an impressively random assortment of industries, before moving on to consulting for a few years. He is an occasional conference speaker and the author of . NET and XML and Mono: A Developer's Notebook, as well as having written a number of articles for the O'Reilly Network.

Niel lives in Marietta, Georgia, with his wife, the former Dawn Kelly McLaughlin; two children, Nicholas Tae-Hyun and Olivia Hee-Eun; an array of animals, including Chester (Golden Retriever), Winston Butler (black-and-white domestic shorthair), Sesame Kung-Pao (seal point Ragdoll), and a rotating stock of small fishes; and a few glowing boxes.
