About meWhen I started writing in LiveJournal, I chose my user name after hours and hours of reflection.
Unfortunately, LiveJournal only allows 15 characters and my choice had 16. Because I was completely smitten, I chose to drop a letter and stick with the misspelled name of nodressrehersal. It's from a Tragically Hip song, "... no dress rehearsal, this is our life."
So it's my LiveJournal name and now me playing in LibraryThing.
I turned 53 in 2009, and am mostly giddy with delight about it. I've been happily married for 32 years; we have two sons, 24 and 18, aka our surly youths.
As a professional organizer, I'm authorized to say there's such a thing as too many suitcases, too much jello in the pantry, or too many dolls with eyes that move, but never, ever, too many books.
About my libraryI read as much as time allows, mostly well-written fiction; my pace lately is slower than usual - a book a month.
I have to own the books I read, and I earmark pages because I can. Money spent on books is ALWAYS money well-spent.
I have chosen to rate only a few dozen books. The ones with five stars are those I would select if forced to fit my entire library into one good-sized box. Otherwise, I mostly love them all.

I may have to move from SW Missouri to western New York so I can join you, Griff, and Bonnie (brenzi) in your new group. Sounds like fun!
One more thing. I see you too are a John Irving fan. I am ecstatic today because I am getting an ER copy of his Last Night in Twisted River. Look for my review in a few weeks!

Actually, a few of us started a group called "Buffalo Bookers" a couple years ago. But none of us kept up with it, so it has been largely dormant since '07. Perhaps it's because there are so many things to explore on LibraryThing... and so little time :)
Thanks also for adding my library to your list. I've done the same with yours.

I am sending you the same e comment I sent griff.
I e mailed Tim and here's what he sent back.
How about these options?
1. Go to http://www.librarything.com/local and click "Local Members."
2. You can start a new group for where you live, perhaps starting by inviting local members from 1.
Best,
Tim
If you go there you will see thwere are many WNY members. So I guess the next step is to start inviting others. What do you think?

I came across your profile through another member who also lives in WNY as do I. It looks like we share a lot of the same books so I added you to my interesting libraries. I also loved Bel Canto and Gilead. I've added Too Close to the Falls to my ever groing TBR list. Have you read The Day the Falls Stood Still? I loved that one too. I wonder if there is a group of Western New Yorkers? Happy reading.
