About my libraryAll of my books are in...tags, though, are another story:-)
These are books that I own and that I've read but borrowed from the library or from a friend. A lot of the young adult tags are in bins at my mothers' and may rejoin the others when I have more space. I like to be surrounded by my stacks (small compared to many folks here) and have no desire to wait until I've read them to put them in my catalog. MY TBR pile is growing in such a reckless fashion that I'm convinced the books multiply while I'm asleep at night. Of course LT helps with this since so many of you are reading such good things.

The book, apparently has been chosen by now and it WILL be "People of the Book". The read will be hosted my Mark, msf59, on the 50 book gig as was the"Pillars of the Earth" group read. It will begin on November 1st and I don't believe that, as of yet, he has the sections broken down nor the threads set up as we have yet a month and a half before the read begins.
We would love if you could join us. You will be hearing more as the time draws near. I have yet to even get my book.
Hope to see you there and I will for sure see you on the threads.
Thank you so much for responding and for your input. We appreciate it.
hugs,

Mark and I have been discussing the possibility of another group read in November and want your input. We have narrowed it down to two books at this point. "The People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks and "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield. So chat it up with friends or us and let us know if you are up for it and what you think. Probably the same plan as with "Pillars of the Earth" which seemed to work out perfectly for almost all of us.
Think it over and give one of us a shout.
hugs and looking forward to hearing from you,

The fellow blogger who is co-hosting the Persephone Reading week is verityjdo who has just recently started her Verity's Virago Venture blog, which is great for Virago fans like us to read for recommendations. I see that you are also intending to read through all VMCs so between us all I'm sure we'll receive some great recommendations.
Happy reading!

It is very tough in the U.S. to find these titles. But part of the fun
is in the flushing out of them. I too, love the interaction of all the lovely people who are "in love" with the Persephone and Virago Press books. They seem to have such kind hearts and caring personalities and are very gentle folk.
It's not been all that long since I was introduced to the genre, so to speak. And I am thrilled to be accepted into their little groups. A lot of time I just wander through the threads and don't say much, but sometimes it is fun to chime in.
The only place I have found any of the books is online. I haven't seen any stores that carry them. Quite possibly some of the larger cities second hand bookshops would have a few, but I am 2 hours away from an actual city so that is not a practical way for me to shop. I would love to hook up with someone who shared the same interest and lived within an hour or so and do a day shopping trip. It would be worthwhile then. Meeting someone of the same heart and the hunting. It would be fun. Ah, the dreams we have.
Well, I thank you so much for popping by. Please do it again sometime.
hugs,

Meanwhile, I haven't shelved *DD* yet (I pick it up and read a couple of pages now and then), but I'm slogging my way into Gravity's Rainbow, and that's taking up my free reading time. I don't know. I'm afraid I'm either too old or the book is - or some of both. About the time I'm about to decide to give up, I read some passage written so beautifully that I'm breathless. Anyway, an English major should have read *GR,* don't you think?
Stay cool! (You have a better chance at it than I do.) And stay in touch.

In October I will finally be eligible for Medicare. YAY!!!!!
My favorite uncle settled in Manteo after WWII, and his family is still there. I do love that part of the state. ----- all in all though, I'd rather be in Chapel Hill!

(I reviewed The Rising Tide here a little earlier this year. I'm not sure whether those reviews tell more than you need to know before reading though.)
Are you a UKLG fan? I eventually loved Left Hand of Darkness, but I haven't been able to finish anything else of hers, and I really want to like her.....
I envy you your Persephone and Painted Clay. It's a bummer to live far from good bookstores. Thank Heaven for amazon and pbs!
