Thanks, Nan. I will definitely get a list of books that I have that you might like. I'm off at the end of the week and the beginning of next week, so I will let you know.

Thanks,
Carrie
U for Undertow by Sue Grafton finally showed up on the library's forthcoming list - due out December 1. I've been checking for it every 2 or 3 days, but 36 people are already ahead of me on the hold list! Without your heads up, I wouldn't have been watching so closely, and would be much further down the list.

Something to look forward to!

Sandy
I see you just added a couple of Beverly Connor's books to your library. I enjoy her books also! I started reading her with the "Lindsay Chamberlain" series when she was still published in hardcover. Have a great weekend!
Oh, I understand. I'm not jealous anymore!
I checked at the library, but they don't have it yet - I'll definitely be watching the "forthcoming titles" list. How did you get it so early?
Nan, I just saw your new books in "connection news" on my home page. There really is a new Sue Grafton? I hadn't been aware that one was coming out yet. I'm off to find it now!
Sandy
Thanks for adding me as your friend, you can never have too many friends. I love being in touch with people who also love a good book.
What a generous offer! How nice of you. I generally read from the library and don't have much space to store books permanently. I've already got one reserved and should be able to pick up this evening. Thanks, anyway.

Sandy
Considering that yesterday was Monday, I'm impressed that you managed to make it a good day! And I hope your birthday is a good one, too, whenever it comes.

S
NSG0223 - was yesterday your birthday? or another special day? If so, hope it was a good one.

Sandy
Thanks for "friending" me. I see you've added the books by new author Christy Reece - I'm looking forward to a new romantic suspense author.
Oh, that does make it better! I don't think I'll be able to read your thread anymore with a straight face. :-)

Sandy
Thank you for becoming my friend.
Hi Nan,

Happy New Year!

Thanks for the friends invite and for adding me to your interesting libraries. I had fun looking in your library, we have a lot in common!

I live in a very small town outside of Altoona.

Talk to you soon,

Carrie
Hi nsg
Thanks for your post and Happy New Year to you.
I have joined the 2009 75 book challenge and I look forward, as always, to reading your posts and learning what you recommend.

All good wishes,
Linda
Welcome to the 2009 75 Book Challenge group. Thanks for joining in!
Nan,

Feehan's Ghostwalker series is probably my favorite series of hers. I really enjoy them and have several of them in both audio and print form. I am glad to find another fan of hers.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Good morning Nan,
Thanks for letting me know about the book. I added it to my wishlist. It sounds like one I would enjoy. Have a good day.

Hi Na,
Do you have a copy of Tomato Girl? If so, would you be willing to trade?

cassie (from booktalk)
Hi Nan,

Thank you so much for reading Tomato Girl and for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. It's gratying for me as an author to know that others care about the characters in my book as I do.

I'm working on another novel now and hope to finish the manuscript this fall.

Regards,

Jayne
Hi NSG,

It's louleblu from the other boards!

Hope I am doing this right :0)

Maggie
Thanks for the help. Your instructions were perfect!
Nan, I see you've been able to add names to the fav authors spot. I've tried, gone to the 'help link' and still can't figure out how to do it! Can you tell me the secret???? Any help is appreciated :~)
Mary
Nice to meet you, Nan. Thanks for adding "Tomato Girl" to your list of books to read. Perhaps someone will pass their ARC along to you. If not, August 26th is not far away. I look forward to hearing your thoughts after you have a chance to read the book.

All my best,

Jayne
Hello and welcome to LT. Thanks for adding my library to your interesting library list. I am always so honored when other bibliophiles take a look at my library and find it worth marking. When I got here to your profile, I found you had comments from a couple of my fellow 75 book challenge readers; I call them the 75'ers. Cariola and Whisper1 both frequently offer great insights into their reading and make great recommendations. I haven't yet checked my threads on the 75'ers but perhaps that's where you first got acquainted with my library? If not, what led you to it? Look forward to having a look at your titles and exchanging thoughts on books.

I noticed we share a recent add to my loibrary The Monster of Florence. I haven't read it yet but picked it up at an author signing recently. Preston was pretty engaging; sometimes authors are not so, as they live mainly in their own thoughts. Have you read it yet? It's going to be in my next TBR stack.
Hi - welcome to LT and thanks for adding my library. I am totally addicted to this site and spend too much time going from one site to another, adding books and authors I want to read and remembering those I'd forgotten I'd read. I think this is a common "failing" of book lovers - I have often brought home a book from the library, only to discover I'd already read it and then remember the plot and characters. Anyway, you will love it here. I am just finishing Wallace Stegner's Crossing to Safety, which I highly recommend. Also Christopher Bohjalian's Skeletons at the Feast. I will watch your library grow with great interest because we seem to share common interests. Stay in touch...
Pat
Thanks, Nan!

-Meg
Nan, I accept :~) Good to see you here!

Mary
I was born and brought up in Westborough! I live 2 towns away now so never got far from home, lol. I still use the public library there as it is much better than my town's.

Regarding the Picoult book: I usually love her books, but this one was just not up to par in my opinion and too close to "The Green Mile".
Hi
My three favorite books are
1) To Kill a Mockingbird
2) A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Iving
3) Jane Eyre
Welcome to LibraryThing! Believe me it is addictive. I see you love mysteries and women's fiction--me too so I am sure we will end up having many books in common.
Nan,
I am not sure about the author clouds but it looks like they are automatically added from the site here. Possibly related to the books in your library. I have to confess that I haven't taken advantage of this site well enough and plan to spend more time here. I didn't realize the wealth of info here! I learned some things from
Cariola's post! Also, it took awhile before I was chosen as an early reviewer so be patient if you aren't chosen the first time you request books.

~Bonnie
Hi and welcome! As others have said, you will really like it here. I warn you though, it is addicting.

I see from your library that you read The Memory Keeper's Daughter. I read this last year and really liked it. What did you think of the book?

Also, I note Jodi Picoult books on your list. I've not read anything by her, but many people in this group have. I think I'll try one of her books. Do you have a recommendation/favorite of hers?
Oh, one more thing. You can go to the page for a book you've enjoyed (use Search above), and it will list 10 other books liked by people who enjoyed it, too.
Nan, you can start by clicking Recommendations at the top of the page. That gives you a list generated by the LT system that matches up books in your library with similar books in the system. You can also take a look at the libraries of people with whom you share a lot of books. Neither of those will be too helpful, however, until you add more books to your library.

Many people also list their current books or favorite books on their profile pages. Again, you can check out the profiles of people who share a good number of books with you--or of people you meet in groups. But if you feel you have interests in common with me or Bonnie, you can check the people we've added as Interesting Libraries or Friends.

The groups are great. Once you find a few related to your interests, you'll see a lot of recommendations and will get to know folks whose taste in books is similar to yours--people you can trust to send a good book your way. You might want to start with What Are You Reading Now? Or maybe try Group Reads, Girlybooks, or Reading Globally. I started a 75 Books in 2008 Challenge group, which is also a good place to look, since most members are posting a brief review of the books they read.

I have met so many neat people here and on BookMooch and PBS. One friend I met on PBS is sending me (gradually) her whole collection of Virago Modern Classics. A box arrived today, and in it was a beautiful handknitted shawl as well--what a lovely surprise! And on many threads here, people give away books (e.g., there is a "Duplicates" thread on the Virago group and "Who Wants It Now?" on Early Reviewers). Sometimes you just mention that you've had a book on your wish list, and someone will offer to send it!

You're going to like it here. :)
Thanks, NSG! I'm LT Author chatting for two weeks starting today, too. You can come chat even if you haven't read yet. I promise not to reveal any plot spoilers.
