In the 1960s, I drove the New Mexico/Arizona/Calif. portions of Route 66, the part that goes (went) through Gallup NM. The TV show "Route 66" was also a favorite of mine, when it was on the air.

Graham TX is located several counties west of Fort Worth, so is not really that close to McKinney TX, where I live. McKinney is just north of Plano, TX which is north of Dallas. McKinney is one of the communities along I75North.
I've heard of the buried Cadillacs ("Cadillac Ranch"???)but have not see them except for photos. I think "Cadillac Ranch" was one of the highlights of the old "Route 66". BTW, "Route 66" (the part that still remains) was the locale for a book I just finished: "Find Me" by Caroll O'Connell.

including several of my less common titles, not just the classics.
Regarding my cooking and baking,I used to do both quite frequently.
I was even in a couple of 'gourmet' cooking clubs when I lived in Idaho & in Florida. I used to really enjoy making pies and other pastries as well as making bread from 'scratch'. Now, I keep things simple, as I mostly cook for myself. My small apartment kitchen is fine for everday cooking, but not for anything too complicated.
I enjoy quilts and quilters, but am not an active quilter. Again, the small apartment makes spreading out fabric, etc. a challenge, especially withtwo cats "helping" =^..^=

I have four dogs and four cats: a Rottweiler, a Black Lab, a Husky, and a Border Collie. We are unsure of the breeds of the cats... one might be calico. But they definitely keep us on our toes.

Are there any you would recommend for beginner cooks? Growing up, I was never really interested, but now I am tired of only making messes in the kitchen. ;) Austen is a beloved favorite of mine. Northanger Abbey is different from her other works, but I thought it was decent. Of course, Pride and Prejudice is my favorite (Mr. Darcy!)

Your library is very unique with quite a few works I have never even heard of. I absolutely LOVE all of the books you have on... food! I need to start reading some more cooking books; I'm sure my hubby would appreciate eating in for a change. :P Our shared love for the Brontes has also sparked my interest in your library. =) Have a nice day.

I'd like to ask you whether you've lived in Africa and if so, where?
I grew up in Kenya and I feel forever connected to that wondrous country!

I was surprised and delighted to see Ishi in Two Worlds in your library. You are the first person whose library i explored that has had that book. Did you enjoy it? I've read it twice--but it has been quite a while. I need to look at it again! The books we share include a lot of my favorites--we must have similar tastes. I've enjoyed my visit. I'll be checking back when I need an idea of something new to read.
