About meGrowing up my mother collected encyclopedias and other reference books for me to read because I never had much interest in fiction until I got to high school. I used to create "homework" for myself and would read sections of the encyclopedia or the medical encyclopedia and write papers on what I read. Life got more difficult around my high school age, though, so I think that is when I turned to fiction. These days I'm all grown up and split my time between fiction and non-fiction. I love anything that makes me laugh or, even better, makes me think. I try to find the wisdom and beauty in every moment.

About my libraryMy library contains classics and contemporary pieces of all genres fiction and non. Books are a huge part of my life but there isn't enough time to read them all so half of my library has yet to be read and my wish list is enormous.

About finding more time to read, I find that audio books take about triple the time as reading to myself. I like audio books for cooking and putting away laundry, (also when I used to commute by car), but the rest of the time I try to read the actual book. I understand having multiple jobs, though; in college I worked five!

I finished 500 books in 2009, and I blogged about my daily schedule: http://botheyes.wordpress.com/2009/10/07/reading-500-books-a-day-in-the-life/
Softly the evening came. The sun from the western horizon like a magician extended his golden want o'er the landscape; trinkling vapors arose; and sky and water and forest seemed all on fire at the touch, and melted and mingled together.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature“s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. - John Muir
