About meI just got renter's insurance for the first time, having been reminded by my housemate that, if nothing else, replacing all of my books would be a costly process.

"Don't you have a list of them somewhere?" she asks. "Or pictures?"

No, but - aha! There's this thing on the Internet that will allow me to save a list, safe from the hypothetical flames that will devour our house.

As a result, a lot of these entries don't reflect the editions I actually have, but what I feel I would probably have to buy to replace the ones I do have.

My "unread" pile is growing horrifically. They've spilled out of their dedicated bookshelf space.

About my libraryI have gold and crap. I secretly love the crap more, but don't tell the gold. It gets sulky.

We noticed that you were a Jorge Luis Borges fan, and we wanted to let you know that we’ve just published a brand new translation of his story, “Gradus Ad Parnassum,” in our anthology, ‘flatmanCROOKED – First Winter.’ “Gradus Ad Parnassum” is not currently in print in English, so we’re rather excited to publish what is to many Borges fans brand new work. The book also includes debut fiction from National Book Award winner Ha Jin, as well as stories from myriad other established and emerging authors. Check the book out at www.flatmancrooked.com/fmcmarket.html. If you get it through our website, it’s significantly cheaper than through Amazon or Barnes & Noble!
nah, that's on my wishlist.
Thanks for your comment regarding Lacan from back in July.

He really does. Just thinking about him makes me twitch.
Aha! We share the best kids books, and I have, in storage shed, box of vintage Fantasy and Science Fiction issues from longlong ago. . . hope they have survived heat & cold & other hazards. . . they overlap your books of that category. Esta1923
ok, this is a dangerous addiction Since I was cleaning my bookshelves and weeding and rearranging my books, I decided to try this out and catalog my books. I wanted to see what all of the fuss is about. I'm not nearly done yet. And I haven't made much progress cleaning, either. bad otto!!
Wow, only 56 books tagged "unread"! I'm impressed! Unless you're still in the middle of tagging them… (;
