About meLibrary drone, student and one of the oodles and oodles of bears in the Pacific Northwest

About my libraryFor years and years I bought books all the time, and when moving lugged and shipped cartons and cartons of them. Since beginning to work for a big library system, I have come to appreciate being able to quickly obtain just about any book in print whenever I want and no longer buy much. My 'library' includes books that I have read but do not own.

Hey Alan, Just posted my copy of Courting Pandemonium by New Orleans writer Fredrick Barton to my LT library and see that you and I are the only two LTers to include this book online. Rick was a writing teacher and friend of mine at University of New Orleans many moons ago. Anyway, thought I'd let you know that I also posted a cover jpg, in case you're interested. Cheers from San Francisco!
Thanks for the comment. Yes, like you my virtual collection here isn't even close to my entire library. It's just an arbitrary 50 best SF books I could find in my library. And it will no doubt evolve... :) Hey, it's neat what we share... :D
I was planning on adding books as I read them, as well as cataloguing my small library of books. I stopped purchasing books about 8 1/2 yrs ago when I began working at the library, as I read between 2 and 3 books per week, sometimes simultaneously. I need to bring some back though, as my card is maxxed out.
Did you just join LibraryThing yesterday? I joined it to comment on yours but I didn't put any books in yet. It looks as though you read a wide variety of books. I do also. I will maybe catalogue some of mine this week. Have a good weekend.
