About meI'm a French/Welsh poet living in the UK. My website is http://www.pascalepetit.co.uk and my blog is http://www.pascalepetit.blogspot.com My fourth collection The Treekeeper's Tale was published by Seren in November 2008. My second and third collections, The Huntress and The Zoo Father, were both shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize and were Books of the Year in the Times Literary Supplement. A fifth collection What the Water Gave Me – Poems after Frida Kahlo will be published in June 2010. I was selected as one of the Next Generation Poets and teach creative writing in the galleries at Tate Modern.
I trained as a sculptor at the Royal College of Art but now only write. I'm widely travelled, in the Venezuelan Amazon, China, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Californian redwoods, Israel, etc. I have translated some contemporary Chinese poets, such as Yang Lian and Zhai Yong Ming and taught creative writing in Almaty for the British Council. I was poetry editor of Poetry London for many years and one of the founding tutors of the Poetry School. I earn my living from writing, readings and tutoring.
About my libraryI buy and read a vast amount of books. These are mainly poetry, anthropology, natural history, art and travel. I read novels and short stories but they tend to be in translation. This library is a small selection.

every person I encounter;
to see the spirit of God in every person.
The spirit of God communes with me
and it reaches out and communes with all,
for each of us is a part of everyone else
and we are all part of the One.
