GroupsHelene Hanff, Lost Generation
About meMy passion is Paris in the '20's, all started by a CBC radio commentator in the '70's who read "Memoirs of Montparnasse" aloud in serial form on her morning show. It started my years long obsession with all things from that era. I believe it's because, right or wrong, I think to have been there, then, one had the opportunity to do great things in literature, the arts or just living. I get to Paris every few years, & it is a thrill to retrace the steps of characters of the 1920's.
About my libraryIt is admittedly very heavy on the side of Paris in the 1920's, both in books written then & books about that period. I love to cook & have quite a large collection of cookbooks as a result. One shelf is devoted to classics, or at least my spin on the classics! "I Capture the Castle" is right there with Sam Pepys' Diary. I adore Helene Hanff & have many of her books.
