About meI am a public librarian, artist, and nature lover. My interests are wide and varied, and I hope my/our collection reflects that. This is a his & hers collection (I'm the "her" of the couple). Some of my favorite reading is by Garth Nix, Annie Dillard, Julie Cameron, and Zora Neal Hurston.

About my libraryI have just recently discovered this scrumptious librarything, and I'm in the throws of including my entire collection of what I own & what I've read that I don't own. I will not bother to do much thematic/social tagging until I have included all titles. In progress...

some explanation of my common non-judgemental tags:

* = means that I ripped off the Dewey# from some source other than LOC

not read = not read yet

library discard = discarded from a public library, bought in library sale (has usual library markings/wear & tear)

ya = young adult

@ your public library = I don't own it, but know where to find it

I am glad you are so efficient. Less thinging, MORE PAINTING!!!! :-)
I have 2 books for you. Gifts! 25 cents each at the FOTL bookstore this afternoon, Parents' Magazine Press, 68 and 70 imprints, Ma Lien and the Magic Brush and The Hat, Tomi Ungerer.
I'm here at last! :) An evening cozied up with a barcode scanner and now I, too, know what I have in my collection...
Ha! You are the only other thinger with Psychic Phenomena: New Principles, Techniques, and Applications by Joe H. Slate (ISBN 0899503349) and you have tagged it not read. Don't read it! But there is a picture of someone you know on page 79 getting an "aural massage".
Dang Librarians! Have you found my Flickr id TOO?! Did you know that "A Strand in the Web" apparently shares an ISBN with another book? Either that or the other is incorrect.
Thanks for joining the Esoterica group.

Happy cataloging.
Found You!!! Had no idea you were here.
This LibraryThing will get ya!!
I'm just pleased to find someone else who owns Trolls and their relatives. It's a brief read but full of charm and an earthy sense of humour, hope you get to it with so many books and so little time.
Dystopos: "edition disambiguation", as totally cool as it is, still does not have the ephemeral power of reconciling the 800+ titles I have yet to log in, 13 AG included! give me a few more months of tablespooning them in, and there might be a few more titles to compare. :)
I'm relieved to hear that. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions, but at least my error allowed me to meet a fellow Alabamian. I don't show us as sharing 13 Alabama Ghosts. Still waiting to see how "edition disambiguation" functions before I correct my entry.
Dystopos: I should explain my tags a bit -- "library discard" means that I rescued it FROM a library sale, and now have my cluthes firmly lashed around it. "Not read" really means "not read YET", as my library seems to grow more wildly than does my time to read (still in school). I treasure Mrs. Windham, and consider all of her books treasures and collector's items.
I noticed that you have one of Kathryn Tucker Windham's book tagged as "discard" and "unread". I suggest at least reading a chapter or so before consigning it to the trash-heap. Perhaps she's not Flannery O'Connor, but she does have the ability to relate her generous helping of experience in a charming and precise way.
