Thanks for all of the suggestions! They will help me find GN to check out and good ideas to expand my teen collection at the library.
Thanks,
Anne

Hi! Thank you for browsing my library. My goal is to enter all of my books but I think that will take several more years. :) Never seems to be enough time for that sort of luxury. It is funny that you mentioned the Vonnegut books. My closest friend in college and I (both English majors) give each other books for holidays and birthdays. We are always trying to expand each other's range of reading materials. He's a big fan of Vonnegut so gave me those books, but I've never had time to read them! :) They are on the "To Read" list but I don't know when I'll get to them. I will have to check out the new one. What do you enjoy about his books?
The Memory Keeper's Daughter and The Poisonwood Bible are must reads! I want to reread The Poisonwood Bible because I read it in high school and only recall that I loved it. I did have great professors and was really exposed to some amazing authors. Unfortunately, I like to really focus on those types of books and as you say, there is never time now. With school and work I try to read 1 book at all times but it is often difficult to find time and I feel as if I should be doing homework instead of reading. I do have a running list of things to read for when I finish school though! :)
I have been the Teen Librarian since March of 2009. I had not read a young adult book since I was one so it has been interesting. I am actually reading more YA Lit right now because it doesn't take as much time and it helps me do my job. I would suggest picking some up to feed your reading habit in the midst of school and life. Let's see, some titles....I have read Twilight and am currently reading New Moon...I wasn't going to as the subject matter does not interest me at all but as the Teen Lib. I felt I needed to have some idea about the series. Meyer is a very good author and she draws you in quickly. They are definitely written for a teen audience but the good writing makes them okay reads. I have found that listening to audio books of YA novels is a good way for me to "read" the material. I just completed the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series on audio book which I would recommend. I have Marcelo in the Real World, Wintergirls and Libyrinth on my counter and I'm excited about reading them as I have time.
I have not branched into the Graphic Novels yet though many teens read this genre. I see that you have some in your library. Are there any you would recommend as an introduction? I also see that you have Running with Scissors: A Memoir, I have considered reading this. What did you think? I haven't read the Harry Potter series yet, what do you think of this series?
