About meI write as well as read, mostly short stories and creative nonfiction, and you can see some of the things I have published on my website. I live in Chicago, retired, married, grandparent, great grandparent, like classical music, professional basketball, call myself a liberal, and never go to church.

About my libraryToo too too many books in my house. My wife and I have been accumulating for years. I have a nice collection of short story anthologies, a fair amount of history, and a good representation of nineteenth and twentieth century authors. I'm no fan of genre books. You won't find much in the way of mystery, romance, or science fiction on my shelves. My idea of a good book is one that is so well written you can read all the way to the last chapter, find that someone has torn away the last dozen pages, and still feel you haven't wasted your time.
