About meNative Texan who adopted New Orleans as home. I miss it very much. Bibliophile working in a used bookstore- you might as well employ a crackhead at a pharmaceutical company. All-around southerner who's so glad she wasn't born in the frozen north.

About my libraryMy library used to be much, much larger. I got rid of a few hundred books shortly before I moved from New Orleans- by leaving boxes and boxes of books in the back room of the Latter Public Library- which unfortunately was the basement, and consequently, was probably all washed down St. Charles Avenue.
I just purged all the books from my LibraryThing account and am in the process of re-adding them.

Thanks for the comment. You'll have to let me know if the ARC of my book sells! I think some authors frown on the people who resell the ARCs of their books, but honestly I'm tickled pink that someone would think they're worth money.

And it's kind of creepy that the books we have in common happen to be both the children's books (Oz, Narnia, Lemony Snicket) and the Marquis de Sade.
How did you get interested in deafness?

I love interpreting. Often people use the profession as a back-up for their other career. I work full time, I'm certified and I'm here to stay. Currently, I work for a Video Relay Service provider. I got into it because my brother is deaf and my mom is a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults.) Didn't want to be a starving artist when I graduated high school, so I went to NTID for 2 years. Been working ever since.

What do you do, if you don't mind me asking.
Lots of books on signing and deafness. Are you a fellow interpreter?
and oddly enough, I find you here too. Books are so addictive. And this place is so useful. Even if I am waaay behind in cataloging my books.
(if you don't mind me asking)
oh and where do you work?
sweet, us neither. i think we're going to have a get together sometime in january (after the holidays and all) so i'll keep you posted
that's actually borrowed from my boyfriend, who's quite proud of hisself for garnering praise (his partial library can be found at oh_that_zoe). he says thanks. welcome to austin - hope the cold weather hasn't been too gnarly for you today! z and i have actually been bandying about the idea of forming a little book club - would you or your roommates be interested?
