About meb.1978. Working and living in a students bookshop in Bergen, Norway. Married, three kids, so I don't get to read as much as I would like. I read on the bus to/from work. Or listen to audiobooks if I walk/jogg/run home from work.

I have reading rules, which are flexible, so its more guidelines:
- read the earliest work/title of a new author if possible
- read the earliest work/titel of a new author from 1001 books first.
- read series in order. (Have to start with the first book in a series always, and can not skip a book in a series. I have to wait with that series until I can get hold of the next book.)
- If I've started a book (fictin) I have to finish it before I can start a new book of same category (crime, or historical fiction or 1001 books, see 999 reading challenge.)
- If I have started a non-fiction book, I don't have to finish it. I might pick it up later. Who knows.

About my library

Started writing a list off all the books I read when I was a kid in a journal.

The list contains the books I have read, not necessarily the books I own, even though I do own most of the listed ones. But a few might be library books, borrowed or book crossing books. All dates 1 Jan 1990 means that I don't really know the finished reading date, but it is childrens fiction, so 1 Jan 1990 is a good guess, but between 1987 and 1992 somewhere is a wider circle for when it was read.

HOWEVER! With collections this is no longer a problem!

Your library - consists of books I actually own.

Have read - the most interesting collection! What books have I read?

Read but unowned - is books I have read, but comes from the library or that I have borrowed from someone else, bookcrossing, librivox etc.

To read - Books that are on my reading list. whether I own them or not. I plan to read them.

Wishlist - Books I would like to own/have. (If I will ever read them has got nothing to do with it.) Why no fiction on the wishlist? Because I have so many unread books on my shelves to be read still...

Favorites - Have made it inactive.

Fanzines - This is for all my fanzines. As of today, only football (soccer) fanzines.

I only tag the books I've read. This might change when I've finished entering all the books I have...

Veldig gøy dette her. Nå får jeg i hvert fall oversikt.
Hi! Just saw your comment on the '1001 Books' thread of mine. Yeah, I really enjoyed Miss Smilla's Feeling For Snow - I loved it, in fact. The plot is a neat detective story with all the right details, and I love the way that Miss Smilla's character is so true to itself. It's definitely worth reading.
I currently have over 200 Hardy Boy books, I am trying to get them all - someday! I also enjoy Brian Jadques books and C.S. Lewis books. I see you are a Hardy Boy fan as well.
So the best thing will probably be to have "Hardyguttene" on the norwegian Librarything page and the "Hardyboys Casefile" on the international page.

That probably makes the most sense. Especially if the Norwegian series uses different numbering as it makes sense to keep that numbering on the relevant language site.
Yeah, it can be tough to read and walk at the same time, although you know I've tried many times! I usually listen to my mp3s during those times.

Hey, I like your picture in your profile that details what book you are currently reading! How do you get that to show up in there? I had originally tried one of LT's widget with a tag specific for "currently reading" but it did not seem to work...
I’m not entirely sure why I chose to exclude audio books. Part of it is a lot of times they are abridged. Part of it is that it seems to take a bit less time to listen to books than read them. Also when I read books I tend to absorb more than while listening. While listening, I often get thinking about something else and miss whole paragraphs. I don’t know… it kinda feels like cheating a little. I’ll have to ponder this some more.

Thanks for the comment though. I also often get most of my reading done while riding the el-train to work every day! By the way, working in a bookstore? You’re living my dream… I hope to open a used/rare book store someday.
Oh I'm sorry, I never saw your message. The way I was using the site meant that I didn't go to the profile part of the site. Then I finished all of my cataloging, and didn't visit the site period.

Football is a cool thing to collect books about. There's a slew of new titles banging around due to the World Cup. I'm not buying yet, as I'm still glued to the TV and the football from Germany and have no time for reading at the moment ;-)
Definitely
Do you enjoy Peretti and Thoene? I just started entering titles I own 2 days ago - nice to know someone watches. Thanks for commenting
Thanks for your message. It is interesting to see what we have in common. Like you, I haven't entered all of the books I've read yet, and like you I'm entering the books I've read and movies I've seen, not necessarily what I own. Have a great day and thanks for the message. lnlamb
Thanks for your comment o my profile, plekter! Miraklet på Bryne looks interesting - what's it about?
