About meI spent the first two decades of my adult life as an academic, with special interests in biography and women’s history and literature. In addition to writing my dissertation on the American novelist Helen R. Hull, I was responsible for getting several of Hull’s works back into print and began work on Hull’s biography. Because of illness, I left the academic world, but in my middle years I became an artist (much to my surprise), creating cartoons, photographs, box art, and miniatures employing a wide variety of media in the service of an off-beat and quirky sensibility. My visual work ranges in tone from elegy to satire, from meditation to comedy. In 2011 I finally returned to Helen Hull and assisted in the republication of Hull’s Heat Lightning by Persephone Books in 2013. Currently I co-administer the Helen R. Hull Facebook page. In addition to my work on Helen Hull, I've produced 5 books of photography as Pat Miller: Pocket Book of Frogs, Side Order of Chips, Shadowed, Cartoonery, and A Victorian Christmas.

About my libraryMy library consists of thousands of books accumulated over many decades, which I am now trying to sort through so that I can send some of them on to new homes.
