About meI'm a graduate student getting a PhD in Japanese literature and an MSI in Library and Information Services. Someday I will be a university librarian specializing in Asian-language materials. My backup career is long-distance trucker.
I am interested in: music (ambient, electronic, experimental, hip-hop, blues, R&B, bluegrass); gaming (paper & pencil RPGs, console games (especially Sega systems), board games); reading; painting; drawing; writing fiction and poetry; hiking and camping; architecture; trees and plants; learning languages; coffee; weird objects; the absurd; wine; my car; fashion; girls; laughing; crushing skulls. And punctuation.
About my libraryMy library is as random and wide-ranging as my interests tend to be. Much of it has been acquired either for school or because it seemed like a good deal at the used bookstore.
Unfortunately, a few years ago I went through and purged a bunch of books from my collection that I wasn't actively reading. My attitude was that I could always buy them again when I was settled and had more space. These books went away to my friends (to good homes really!) and I think I was right in that I could stand to pare down my belongings when my life is in such flux at all times, but I do miss those books. So, while my library has grown over time, it also shrank by about 200 books that I hope to eventually re-add.
In the near future I hope to 1) tag my books thoroughly, 2) mark them as read or unread, and 3) tag by location.

I live in Brisbane in Australia but frequently come to Japan to perform in collaboration with other sound artists so, indeed, I share your appreciation of experimental and ambient music. Am a mere library technician but I am a veteran player of pencil and paper fantasy RPGs with a love of coffee and girls and crushing skulls too.
I was in Yokohama in April to visit the art museum with my girlfriend who is studying contemporary Japanese art. Great city!
