About meSort of intellectual, fifty-something male from northern England. More comfortable with the past than the present but very fond of the internet and technology. Butterfly mind - wish I was more of a scholar. Planning on doing postgraduate work when I finally retire - if not sooner.
About my libraryCollected over the years, some lost when I briefly emigrated to Canada and another clear out when I couldn't get all the books in my car when moving to northern England. Quite a lot purchased since then: strength in history and biography especially. Not much 'modern' fiction - though not averse to some thrillers! Books are a psychological resource and a retreat for me. I like their physicality as well as their contents - I don't think I'd ever be happy with an e-reader.

Just thought I'd let you know that I finished reading 'Lady Anna' today and have reviewed it. I really enjoyed it and I'll definitely keep my eye out for more Trollope after this first taster! Many thanks again for sending me the book.
