About meI am 53-year old college student, having returned to college with the intention of becoming a high school history teacher, something I began, but never completed, over thirty years ago. My first career was in the building industry, from laborer to project manager and finally a residential building contractor.
I live on 7 acres in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in central Arkansas. My passions are: my family (wife and 3 kids), the outdoors, spring and summer, sunshine, learning and exploring. I enjoy winter...for about three days, then I spend the rest of the dark months yearning for warm weather and long days.
My hobbies are: road cycling, running, backpacking, photography, gardening, bread-making, woodcraft, travel, and historical research (and just about anything else I come across).
About my libraryMy passion for history is reflected in my books, as well as a keen interest in geography, travel, adventure, and a curiosity about just about anything. You will find little fiction here, I prefer actual events, not someone's imagination (although I will be the first to admit that a great deal of non-fiction often includes a hefty dose of creative fabrication). Fiction is like a museum whose only artifacts are mere replicas. It is just not the same as the genuine article.
Also included here are my wife's books. Our interests often overlap but not always. We both have an interest in biographies.
I've just begun entering my books so what you see may not be a balanced representation of my library.
