About meI'm an amateur lay theologian from New Zealand.

Among other qualifications I have a MA(Hons) in political philosophy and a BTheol(Hons) in Christian Thought and History.

I'm now doing a PhD in political theology at the University of Edinburgh.

About my libraryThis library replaces my other online library at:
http://www.rad.net.nz/7.0.html

That was built in TYPO3 - but lacks many of the cool features here.

Hmm ...I have no French, but saw this book a while back and thought that it looked interesting!
Pour une Nouvelle Théologie Politique - are you reading this in the French?
That's weird. I thought Blackwell's new stuff was fantastic. Their second hand wasn't so great. Good trip overall?

Am home today, was meant to be working, but feeling crook.
I'm still trying to come up with the exact proposal but generally I want to look at nonviolence in the "supreme emergency" type situation and therefore I will be looking at Bonhoeffer, Yoder, Lehmann et al. I also want to link this in to the political theory of Schmitt and some of those influenced by him (Mouffe & Agamben) as it relates to this issue, particularly from those who do not advocate a sectarian approach to ecclesiology and therefore already seem involved in the violence of the state.
I've just stumbled across your profile by looking at the books shared feature. How are you finding Edinburgh? I am currently looking at potential Unis for Phd and judging by your research proposal it is in a similar area to what I am trying to flesh out at the moment.
If I weren't so influenced by John Howard Yoder, I would have to come over and hurt you!!! ;-)

I guess you've looked at William Cavanaugh's work... and how about Thomas Heilke at the University of Kansas?

Do you know Chris Marshall, formerly at BCNZ and now at Victoria University of Wellington.

While you're in Edinburgh, put in a good work for me!

The O'Donovans will be here in Sydney in September.
Hey, there, Rich... I'd love to be there at the public theology conference but couldn't get there unfortunately. My good friend Damian Palmer will be giving a paper there on the 'politics of contested formation'.

I just noted you are going to start doctoral stidues at the University of Edinburgh! Lucky sod! I was hoping to study there with Oliver O'Donovan. What's your plans?
