About my library I've mostly sworn off book buying and steadfastly entered a home-library-purging, love-my-public-library phase. The books I acquired while studying linguistics and Italian at university make up the core of my home library.
I'm using tags to sort my library; here are some of the less self-explanatory defined.
read - books I've read lately, including what I'm currently reading (this one powers my blog widget)
unfinished - books I started but wasn't motivated to read all the way through or didn't finish quickly enough and had to relinquish to the library (happens often to this slowpoke)
to read - books I'm interested in reading
wish list - books I'd like to own
borrowed - books borrowed (usually from a library), not owned
worked on - books I've been lucky enough to contribute to, usually in a proofreading capacity
inscribed - books I own that were presented to me with an inscription by the giver, or used books I purchased that had been inscribed in some past life
chewed - books that sustained damage during the trying early days of coexistence with my dog Maddy and that I haven't yet had the heart to discard
