About meI'm a librarian in training. I love to read, and I'm trying not to feel so guilty about it. Short of therapy, there's the Reader's Bill of Rights.

Books compete with movies for my free time. I also enjoy bicycling, hiking, dancing, dog wrangling, and Ping-Pong.

About my libraryI love my public library and try to avoid impulsive and wanton book buying. The books I acquired while studying linguistics and Italian at university make up the bulk of my home library.

Some of my less self-explanatory tags defined.

unfinished - books I started but wasn't motivated to read all the way through, or didn't finish quickly enough and had to relinquish to the library but hope to revisit someday
worked on - books I've been lucky enough to contribute to, usually in a proofreading capacity
inscribed - books I own that were presented to me with an inscription by the giver, or used books I purchased that had been inscribed in some past life
chewed - books that sustained damage during the trying early days of coexistence with my dog Maddy and that I haven't yet had the heart to discard
