About meMy mother claimed I was reading before I started school. I didn't come from a family of readers, so I'm not sure where the drive to read to came from. I very grateful for it, though, despite comments about always having my nose in a book :-). Reading has shaped my life more than any other influence, and I'm grateful for it. Thousands of books read, thousands more to go. I've also started / run / participated in about a dozen book clubs since 2000. In four of them now.

About my libraryHave always tried to keep it to reasonable levels (by my definition, anyway). When I began quilting in 2003, both hobbies needed space, so I reduced the number of bookcases and started using Kindle. The books I buy in print are for my work and learning; I must have print versions to annotate and be able to refer to. Kindle just doesn't work for that. For pleasure reading I buy used books at library sales and donate them back when I'm done. Also like Kindle Unlimited for that. And I borrow heavily from the library, both in print and e-books.
