About meI'm Alana. I'm kind of a boring person.

My mother was a single mother for the first three and a half years of my life. She didn't have a lot of money, so she occupied me by reading library books aloud. By the time I was three, I was reading to myself. I was homeschooled for most of my education and graduated when I was fourteen. I am now seventeen and still as bookthirsty as ever.

I am the oldest of nine children. I also have two personal dogs, three family dogs, four cats, two guinea pigs, a rabbit, and an aquatic turtle. I usually have five books in my bed at any given time. I've only woken up with a black eye once.

I want to get my doctorate in English and go on to be a college professor. I also am learning Japanese and I enjoy creative writing very, very much. I am generally a very friendly person and I love making new friends. (:

About my libraryI grew up reading series like Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, and things of that ilk. While I still love those books, lately my favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Aldous Huxley, Chuck Palahniuk, Jacqueline Carey, and many more.

A large portion of my books aren't on this list, but I'm working on it.

I enjoy reading things in all perspectives and tenses and rarely take more than a few days to finish a book, even if it is long ... unless it is a dull read. I read all genres and I'm far too indecisive to pick a favorite.

I love suggestions, so feel free to recommend a book or author if you think I'd like them. (:
