I posted this image two years ago when I was new to the workings of the site and not aware that the images I would post would be seen by others. Believed it was my database info and thus I added this image of the subject of the book as I was unable to find an image of the author. I would like some time to search for an author image before removing.

Hi Armida!

I didn't even know I was one of today's authors, until you sent the comment. So right off - you made me smile. Then I realized who had posted the comment - and I smiled again! I'm still doing lots of embroidery, but haven't kept up with the Italian styles as you clearly have! What a great selection of books on that topic in your library!

Melinda
Hi Armida, I'm happy you enjoyed your trip to Italy. I know that many Italian needlework books have been published by small editors or self-published so it is difficult to find them in bookshops and you have to look for them in small shops or museum shops. Needlework fairs are useful for this purpose.
Tombolo e disegni (www.tombolodisegni.it) have a good selection of books and magazines, if they don't ship overseas (or if this is too expensive) you could ask for a delivery to an address (hotel, friend...) in Sicily at the next trip to Italy.
Do you have a blog or a facebook account with photos of your Italian holiday? I'd like to see them :-)
Ciao, Stefania
Do you have any tips on obtaining some of the wonderfull foreign language books on textiles at a reasonable price? Youfr fine collection of Italian catalogues has motivated me to try again to find themThankTracy
Jeanine already knows about us on LT, I told her :-)
Will you travel also to the northern part of Italy? Maybe Milan :-) ?
In May I will be still teaching in Novara 4 times a week, and at the end of the month I will spend three days in Turin, for an interesting course on old european embroideries

Have you ever been at Museo Poldi Pezzoli in Milan? They have a nice collection of embroidery, not very big but interesting, kind of a cupboard with many drawers, each one you pull contains wonderful works.

Ciao, Stefania
Hi Armida, I was in Parma too in 2009... I taught Schwalm embroidery in some 2-hours "ateliers", and I remember that Jeanine traveled with the american ladies' group of Vima.
Jeanine and I went out together in Parma in the evening... such a beautiful town. I don't move around a lot, for needlework shows, but Italia Invita in Parma is the only one I won't miss at all!
Maybe I will meet you too in the next Forum, in 2013 :-)

Ciao, Stefania
Hi, where are you from? My English is not very good, but I can manage to read English embroidery books, and that's fine for me :-)
You have a huge collection of books! I'm green with envy :-)
In these days I'm putting in order my embroidery and textile bookshelf, so I decided to add the titles here: perhaps my husband will stop to buy for me books that I already own :-)

Ciao, Stefania
