If Kelly is really the right one for you, it will work-out. Will attempt to answer your questions.
1) Earth - Young, appearing old
2) Bible - Literal, not philosophical
3) Creation - Natural Selection resulting from inherent variability causing changes within a species. The Wolf, Dane, and Dalmation = same species.
4) Universe - Infinite
5) Existence - Purposeful
6) Read Priviledged Planet and Case for Creator - just ordered Darwin's Dilemma. Ross is interesting - but, not one of his fans. Will have to check-out Dinesh.
Have you read Sermonti's "Why a Horse is not a Fly?"
Have a Great Day,
Rich

Sorry for the break, in response but thanks for the Biblical Wisdom (it does help!). I am a Christian and so I agree (not because it is in the Bible but because those words you quoted--are correct--yet I do give the Bible Special consideration!).
I see from surfing a bit that you are an author and have a knock-em dead web--you've got my attention! Seeing as how you've quoted Biblical 'wisdom' I'd like to bluntly ask a couple questions to see where our heads are (please allow me this even though it may sound not in the 'spirit' of things and/or too blunt).
1) Young earth or Old earth?
2) Bible as truth: literally or in General (with certain historical truths accepted even if all the 'proof' is not there)
3) Micro Evolution, Marco-Evolution or Darwinism?
4) we are in: Multi-universes, Bubble Universes, Parallel Universes, Pam-Spermia, or Dimensionality?
5) we are here by chance and have no purpose or reason (walking chemical bags of meat) OR we are uniquely designed conscious observers and moral agents knowing right from wrong with an internal eternal 'self' that transcends time?
6) along with "Darwin's Dilemma" have you seen, "The Privileged Planet, Case for a Creator, Hugh Ross's "Journey towards Creation" and read his books and too Dinesh D'Souza's "What's So Great About Christianity? (Dinesh is completely different he can be seen on youtube).
I had sent e-mail out to her (Kelly) while she was driving away to start a new life in Texas (and again in part) once she arrived (found out later there is no internet or telephone in the home of three children who just lost their mother!!): I told her: "Kelly, I want the best for you...love suffers long without expectation without condition and with no thought of self....no one owns another...love must be free to go, if it is to ever be real, should it return....everything and more in 1st Cor 13:4-8 is correct! Kelly, I'm too old to make those selfish mistakes and Christ's Spirit in me will allow me (and my spirit) to be a loving friend to you from a distance or from however it makes you comfortable...I said I did not want you to go...because, I Love You....yet there is peace in me because you told me there is peace in you. Kelly, I hope your life finds love in someone special and that you have a long happy purposeful life. Kelly, I'll always miss you...especially every Sunday when you're not with me.... Kelly, no one wants to lose a very 'special' friend."
Her reply was...well, nice and comfortable. I'll certainly have her as a lifelong friend. So goes love and so it will have its victory. And being more spirit than we are physical...I like that!
Thanks Richard
Gordon

Thank you for inviting me to join your group. Considering the books I have in my library, I am curious about why you would invite me to join. I had to accept. Being a confirmed evolutionist with Charles Darwin and Richard Dawkins as my role models, I don't often have a chance to converse with creationists and I felt this could be a good opportunity to discover first hand on a more intellectual basis the reason a person would major in Biology and not accept evolution. I look forwrd to many intersting discussions.

Sorry, I did not reply sooner. I must admit to being a bit of a romatic (or maybe it's love-sick) but I lost a good female friend in a move (her to TX) and frankly, my head is lost. I'm surprised...at me! So I haven't done a thing...I suspect you understand (we all fall into this one day or another...I guess we're built for "Relationship" like it or not). I attend a church and I bring the science and philosophy (with the theology) right in to a mix...our problem is the discernment...not the disciplines (seen any of the Illustria Media DVD's? Dial it up on google www.illustramedia.com). Anyway, I haven't been able to read and think clear about much of anything. I'm going to be surprised I sent this out...but I'm too open and a softy to misslead at one thing and focus on another. Keep in touch...maybe you have a way to dig me out? WHop ever knows why things go the way they go? BTW Where are you located? Oooh I see, Palm Desert, CA. You've got some nice starry nights then...! Been there done that in San Ber...and Riverside...many years ago!
