About meI am a college librarian in Indiana and have since youth been reading English history, especially the Tudor and Victorian eras. My wife (prison librarian)and I share a serious interest in politics, presidents, campaigns, and NPR (much to the displeasure of our daughter). Historic preservation of public and domestic Victorian architecture is a serious interest, especially when traveling.

About my libraryMy wife and I acquire from local sellers, auctions, ABE.com, and Amazon. We are trying to use LibraryThing to move less important titles off our shelves and into the hands of friends and professors at the college where I work.

Thanks for the reference. I think it is an outstanding series and received Great Houses of Chicago as a Father's Day gift.
As you are interested in architecture and already have 'North Shore Chicago: Houses of the Lakefront Suburbs 1890-1940' you might also be interested in 'Great houses of Chicago, 1871-1921' by the same authors.
