About meWorking on a Ph.D. in political theory

"Ne me demandez pas qui je suis et ne me dites pas de rester le même : c'est une morale d'état civil ; elle régit nos papiers." - Foucault, L'Archéologie du savoir.

About my libraryCurrently, and I hope temporarily, private. Sadly, I don't have 3000+ books. The number above includes a lot of wish-list items; My Library currently stands at 1,997. My books are mostly literature, philosophy, and political theory, with some history, languages, art, etc. Some are shared.

Thanks for the information. I was able to get them separated without any difficulty but hit the panic button at combining... so I just posted it on the combiners page and someone fixed it for me. I really want to learn how to do that... not so much to work on the entire LT as so many seem to do, but just to be able to clean up my own stuff when need be.

Thanks again.
No, i don't know how to do it, but would like to learn... Do you think you could give me directions, or walk me through it?
This time I know I'm right! These two books are not the same, even though my list of books is telling me that I have two of the same book. Different covers, different titles and different stories inside...

First is:

Second one is:

Help! Please...
At least four times today I have been reading something in talk discussing an LT feature, thought to myself, "I agree with that" and look up to find that you posted it. I think my new motto is "I agree with rsterling."
You can see that I didn't include Mark Twain as an author at all - I'm not really sure what the best way is to handle all these abridgments. I decided not to include Twain because his page is so long. But obviously he is the source of the story, even if his words aren't being used. I'm open to whatever the consensus is.
Ah so, I think you are right about them being different books. Thanks for your help with this.
Could you tell me how to fix a problem?

I was just going to enter CK and book information for a book a finished reading.

I saw that it is shown as #2 in a series. When I went to look at the series (since the book seemed like a stand alone to me) I realized that someone has entered the different language editions. It is all the same book, just in different languages, not a series.

I am hoping that 1) you could fix it and/or 2) tell me how to fix it so that if I encounter this again I would know what to do.

Thanks!
good luck with that phd

Dear rsterling,

I am the producer of the Guardian Books podcast and have just discovered your group on LibraryThing. Thankyou very much for setting it up. I have immediately joined the site and emailed them to tell them I work here. I have entered two events and the url for this week's podcast.

What else would you like me to do? What else would like like to know about?

I hope that this reaches you soon.

Yours Tim
