About meI have an innumerable amount of failed book limiting schemes already under my belt and am currently in denial about how many unread books are in my possession. I would love to learn how to preserve all the excess fruits and vegetables that will shortly spring forth in my garden (wishful thinking!). Also, I think "slow motherhood" should be the new worldwide movement. I am mother to two daughters - The Diva (7) and The Darling (4).

About my libraryToo many excellent books to name! OK here's a few: Pride and Prejudice, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Razor's Edge, Birdsong, Too Many Men, The Crimson Petal and the White, Atonement, Middlesex, Reading Writing and Leaving Home, A Long Long Way, That They May Face The Rising Sun, Polysyllabic Spree, How To Be Idle, The Book Thief, Out Stealing Horses, Animal Vegetable Miracle.

Noticed you liked The God of Small Things, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a grief-stricken family. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter)in case you'd like to read more about the novel before you commit:

Thanks,

Hi! I'm new and I'm not suer I'm doing this right. We seem to have some of the same books. I see you read Atonement and liked it. I found it a bit too introspective - I think the word I used at the time was turgid! I have just finished the book thief- I thought that was brilliant. hope this message works.
Thanks for 'friending' me!
I am guessing by some of the books we share that you are in Australia? Or you are an Australian?
I own Gift from the Sea but I have never read it. i picked it up because....everyone had heard of it but me : )
