About meI’m a librarian and archivist with a long-standing love of all things fantasy and science fiction, though I’ve done the rounds of genres such as history, mystery and thrillers too. I'm also very passionate about Western graphic novels and Japanese manga. My tastes are extremely diverse and I’ll try a bit of anything; as a general rule, I like good ensemble casts, with complex and preferably self-aware characters, but a bit of cheese (or even a lot of cheese) doesn’t faze me. Humour is a must! And because I’m a history buff, I appreciate stories with an eye for detail that build their worlds well. Any recommendations are most welcome.
About my libraryMy library is always in danger of exploding off all my bookcases! So that I don't sink under the weight of my book-reading backlog, I've been making a determined push over the last few years to plough my way through it. I'm nearly done - down to only eleven books, and ten of those were bought this year :-). I've read some fantastic books in the process - and now I can branch out and try some new things from my massive wishlists...
