About meI am married, I have 2 sons, I work in a bank. And other than that- I read books.
If you want to ask me something, or comment on something, please feel free to do so!
About my libraryI have added some of the books that I've read over the years, but not by any means all of them. It's fairly accurate as far as to what I've read recently, especially now since I joined the 999 Challenge.

No it doesn't seem like we have many of the same books, do we? Oh wel, that's ok!

Thank you for stopping by! It seems that we share somewhat similar tastes in paranormal romance and some sci-fi. I hope you found something that sounds intriguing while visiting.
I noticed in your comments someone recommended the Aubrey/Maturin books by Patrick O'Brien. Naomi Novik wrote a few historical fiction books, starting with "His Majesty's Dragon" that take place in the same era. If you're interesting in Historical Fiction (with a smidge of Fantasy) I highly recommend her Temeraire books.
Hope to hear from you soon!

I hate to disappoint you but since I am finalizing my 999 list, I am reading the reviews of the books that I have selected and since no one seems to like Madame Bovary I have replaced it with another book that got better reviews. I really don't want to spend my reading time on a book that I probably won't like. Life is too short and there are too many good books to waste your time on a bad one. So thanks for the heads up.

I don't know if you have read any of the Aubrey/Maturin books by Patrick O'Brien, which are set in the same era--the Napoleonic Wars and which features the Royal Navy, but anyone who likes those will like the Sharpe series, which is the land version of the same era.
in general, I would say you'll like them if:
a) you like historical fiction
b) you like action-adventure
Cornwell does an outstanding job of characterization. His writing is also excellent. For the genre, I think they are top-notch.
But if you decide to read the series, do start with the first of the series, Sharpe's Tiger, which is not the first book he wrote.
Good luck!

And I hope you also will include books you DON'T like - sometimes I think that's more helpful sometimes that what you DO like!
