About meThe Books I Like:
* Fantasy novels.
* Classic literature, especially women writers from the 19th century.
* Manga, both shounen and shoujo.
* Asian literature, especially from Japan's Heian period.
* Strategy treatises, especially by Chinese philosophers.
* Self-study books about language.
* And everything else. I don't like football but if you gave me a book about it I'd read it.

If you'd like to recommend a book to me to read, or say "Hey, that book should be at the top of your reading list, not the bottom", I'd love to hear it! Drop a comment, I am always looking for more books to read.

About my libraryMy books are tagged so they'll be sorted by genre, sub-genre, and series, since that's how my books are organized on my shelves. I'm not quite done figuring out the subgenres, though...

Regarding other versions of The Art of War, have you seen our ranking of the major editions? Here's the URL: http://www.sonshi.com/purchase.html Each book suggestion has an interview to the author, exclusively at Sonshi.com. All of them have a part they played in the site either as members or contributors.
Not sure when the last time you've been to Sonshi.com but we just published our own Art of War book called "The Art of War -- Spirituality for Conflict." You probably heard of Dr. Thomas Cleary; he wrote the Preface to our book. Since you're now at 999 books in your library, why don't you make it 1000 with this new Art of War edition! (By the way, did you ever participate in the Sonshi Forum and if so what was your username?) Sincerely, Thomas
Hi Stephanie, thanks for connecting with me. Looking at your interest in books, I'm not sure how you came across Sun Tzu's The Art of War. Perhaps through your manga? Sincerely, Thomas
I'm so sorry Saturnine13 stopped reading Daughter of the Forest half-way through! It doesn't turn into a Harlequin romance novel at all. It remains mystical all the way through as do the other two that follow.
Ms. Marillier is an outstanding author in her ability to paint the characters so clearly. I felt as though I would recognize Sorcha, her brothers or any of the main characters if I came upon them in a public place. I read at least two books a week in every genre except horror murder mysteries and these three remain favorites.
"Fram boys with magical destinies" -- I love it! :)

Would that include Robert Heinlein's Starman Jones, about a farm boy destined to become a starship captain, or isn't that magical enough?

Oh, its a really cool book. Its sort of an alternate history book...its like set in Great Britian in 1985, and the Crimean War is still going on, Britian is pretty much a police state, and high literature is the biggest thing in popular culture. The main character is a Literary Detective named Thursday Next who is trying to catch some kind of super criminal who stole the manuscript for Dickens's Martin Chuzzlewit and apparenltly will be kidnapping characters right out of Jane Erye. They can go into books, you see.

I'm only almost half way through so I don't know all the finer points!
Well I try! I think I'm like, six or seven or more years behind everyone I know bookwise, cause my Pure Love of Books was not pulled back to the surface until Jonathan Strange. I have more comic books that real ones. :( I'm also organizing those on a seperate account I'm such a nerd :( :( :(

Tagging books is hard. I can't even remember what happens in half of those books.
This is Jeff! Oh my God, you have nearly 700 books. I'M SO ASHAMED OF MYSELF I ONLY HAVE LIKE 17 I CAN REMEMBER OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD
