About meI am a 20-something who is just received her MLIS degree. I currently work as a librarian for a medical library. I love animals, especially tuxedo cats. Hobbies of mine include writing, reading (of course!), watching horror movies, playing my Wii, interior decorating, and traveling.

Reading interests of mine include experimental fiction (Danielewski and Palahniuk), southern fiction, horror and gothic fiction, historical fiction, and various non-fiction (specifically interior decorating, arts and crafts, travel, self-help, alternative history, archaeology, and the unexplained).

About my libraryThe books listed here in my catalog are a collection of books I have acquired from 1) my required reading from courses while pursuring my undergraduate degree in English, 2) books in my "professional" collection related to library science, 3) books I have acquired advance copies of to review from varying publishers and/or journals, and 4) books I just like to read.

I love those reader's advisory books, especially "Book Crush" by Nancy Pearl. I recognize the "Hooked on Horror" cover you mentioned, so I'm sure I've flipped through it before, but I'll check for it tonight when I go to work. Btw, I work in a public library as a page. It's hardly rocket science, but I love it and it's rarely dull (too many weird patrons and coworkers ;).

Congrats on finishing your MLIS degree! And good luck with the job search, especially with the unemployment rate like it is. I don't see too many professional library jobs opening up, at least not here in WA.

P.S.
Sorry this comment is so short. I need to get to work. :)
Hey, Carolann! Thanks for the invite. :) And too cool--we almost have similar LT names, and we both work in a library!

I'm off to peruse your library now. (We only share 12 books, but I'm sure that # will grow.)

Btw, I love your cat photo! I even remember using card catalogs when I was a kid. Nice. :)
Thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries! It certainly looks like we share ataste for scary novels!
