About meAge : 51 years old

Location : Fredericksburg, VA

Sex : Female

Interest : Reading, knitting
I like Disney movies and musicals (especially the old ones)
Music interests: Celtic, soundtracks, oldies

My name is Susan and I live in Fredericksburg, VA. I have 2 children: Alan, 25 and Beth, 23. My husband and I have been married for 27 years. I used to work part-time at Borders Books, which is a dangerous place for a bookaholic to work. It may explain why I have more than 200 books on my TBR bookshelf.... I also love to knit and knit for ShipSupport (making hats for our deployed troops) and AllCrafts4Charity (making mainly hats and booties for babies).

I started reading romance when I was around 12 or 13. I was babysitting for a neighbor who gave me free run of her bookshelves. Most of them were Harlequin Romances. I started out on authors like Margaret Way and Violet Winspear. I also read alot of Barbara Cartland. As I got older I added authors like Bertrice Small.

Several years ago I gave the first of Nora Roberts' Three Sisters trilogy to my daughter, as I thought she would enjoy it. Now she is as voracious a romance reader as I am. She is frequently asked "Does your mom know you read that stuff?" to which she replies "Who do you think got me started?!"

About my libraryMostly romance, but also history, children's, science fiction, inspirational fiction.

Can you give me an example?
Wow thanks for writing back I'll have to try some of those writers!
Since you like romances what is your favorite? I am trying to find more romances to read.
Thanks for your answer. So, basically after you read the book you liked it, and so you gave it 5 stars, I get that.

I try not to read reviews of books until after I've read books, of certain GO TO authors, so I hadn't read anything about this book.

But, after I posted mine yesterday, I read some and seriously some people are ANGRY that she included what they considered a rape scene in the book. I remember when I read that scene feeling that Emma wasn't really into him at that moment because she was so angry at him...but the word rape never occured to me. I could tell Dodd was setting up for a sex scene and it felt really forced to me.

I usually love her books, but I don't like paranormals either, Move Heaven and Earth is the most wonderful book! It's my favorite of hers. And I totally HATED one that I can not even remember the name of... This book is now 2nd on my BAD books by Christina Dodd.

I do like her heroines.

Thanks again for answering my questions. I've probably only read 4 books since April!
